We have chosen a plan…scroll down to check it out!

Choosing a house plan can be overwhelming from the 1000’s available on-line. Agreeing on the size of house, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms and the fact that we really wanted a second floor balcony (to maximize our water view) really helped narrow things down.

List of important things to consider when comparing plans:

  • size of kitchen
  • size of great room
  • size of master bedroom
  • closet space
  • was the plan designed to have a basement
  • location of laundry (main level or basement)
  • fireplace/woodstove
  • garage

After carefully considering many options, validating that the floorplan will meet our eventual retirement needs and ensuring the curb appeal is sympathetic to the existing homes in the development we have made a selection.

The plan we chose is a manufactured home called Chalet 3532. The ground floor is 1,120 sq ft and comes delivered with an unfinished second floor “attic” which will become our 800 square foot master bedroom, bath and walk-in closet. Oh and did I mention it has a second floor balcony which was at the top of our wish list? That was the clincher for us.

We added a 2 car garage and breezeway to add to the functionality and curb appeal of our new home. As mentioned, the manufactured home is delivered with an unfinished second floor. Disher Homes in St. Stephen will finish the second floor for us as well as build the garage and breezeway on-site.
